VTA-Buses


	Okay, time to put these on a separate page. Here are various Revenue and Non-revenue vehicles used by VTA/TA/County Transit over the years.


	Current Fleet (as of May 2004)


	1997 Gillig Phantom. Full bus shrink-wrap ad.


	One of VTA's 2001 model buses. A Gillig Lowfloor, 40 ft. with 38 seats.


	1993 Flxible, 40 foot, new paint design.


	A couple of shots of one of VTAs new LRVs (as of July 2001 they were not in service yet). This one was brought out for testing and a meeting.




	22 line bus, Eastbound Santa Clara St between 1st & 2nd.

	Slinky Bus at Santa Clara and First. VTA has 40 of these, they operate on the 22 line.

	Buses being used on the Community Bus Route in Los Gatos are supposed to look like this, only a couple of them do at this time. Taken on Winchester Blvd. near the Transit Center (which is not open yet when these were taken).


	Historic Buses




	This is a 30 foot, 1986 Flxible.



	This is one of the old Daimler/ Mercedes-Benz buses used for Dial-A-Ride in South County. Picture provided by G. Araki.



	An old Historic GMC (1959 TDH-4512) owned by VTA. This was restored by the Mechanics at the then County Transit District. This bus is painted in the old City Lines colors.

	Here is an LRV with the old paint scheme. This one is at Old Ironsides Station. Note: These are being leased off to Sacramento RT and UTA.


	35 foot RTS. This is the last series of buses SCCTD/VTA bought with curtain signs. From the collection of G. Araki.

	1988 TMC RTS, 40 foot.

	Here you go folks. A genuine Twin Coach with the original County Transit colors. This one is at Valley Medical Center. These were powered by Chrysler 440s fueled with Propane. Picture provided by G. Araki.

This is a picture taken in 1977 of the bus stop at Second & Santa Clara. This is the location of the Southbound Santa Clara Station on the Guadalupe LR line, which first saw service over 10 years after this picture was taken. At the time the picture was taken, this was the main layover location for the buses that ended downtown. The buses in this picture include Twin Coaches, a couple of Old Looks, and a couple of New Looks. By the time LR started running, all of these buses had been retired from service. 	Non-Revenue Vehicles




	An electric Rav4. This is now a common non-revenue vehicle.




	This is one of VTA's road supervisors vans.


	ZEB - VTA is doing a test of some Zero Emission Buses. Here are some pictures of the first of them.
