Okay, its the west end of an east bound bus.  Picture by G. Araki.

This is too easy, those buses must know there are better places to hide then the downtown transfer center, oh well, just makes the job of G. Araki easier.

Revised: April 7, 2004

This is the Santa Barbara MTD Transit Center. The bus you see in the foreground (#5 Mesa) is a special homegrown design (called the "Villager"). Most of these small buses are to be replaced with electric shuttles in a few years.  The bus behind it is a Nova Bus on the #11 line. #11 is SBMTD's busiest line; it runs from Downtown to Goleta and UC Santa Barbara via State St and Hollister Avenue, the "main drags". The line waiting to board that bus was about three times longer than it was when the picture was taken.  This was about 9 a.m. on a Sunday morning, November 2000.  Picture & text by C. Hobbs.
