Bus Stop

Other Types of Signs

This page contains pictures of non-bus stop signs that have been used by districts to provide information to the drivers.

This arrow sign is used by VTA to direct the drivers on a route that operates in an area with poor street signage.  This sign is located at Summit Rd & Mtn Charlie Rd.

Here is another style of arrow sign used by VTA.  This one is located in an area with more visibility than the one at left.

This sign is used by VTA to identify stops that have been "adopted" by people who help keep the area around them clean.

This sign is used by VTA at the Lockheed Martin Transit Center to identify where certain routes are supposed to layover.

This sign has been used by VTA to identify stops at which the buses are NOT supposed to layover.

The second sign at this stop is to remind the drivers that they are supposed to turn the bus off during layovers.  This was installed to answer complaints from the library located next to the stop.

.

This sign is used to show the drivers the farthest forward they are supposed to park at a stop.  This is most often done because of buses blocking sight distance for vehicles pulling out of driveways.

This picture shows why the arrow sign is needed.  The main road goes to the right, and the bus is supposed to go left.  If the driver misses the turn it is about 10 miles (16Km) to the next place they can turn the bus around.

This sign is used to mark Paratransit pick up locations at transit centers.
