Bus Stop

Antarctica

Okay folks, believe it or not, and you better because I have proof, there are bus stops on Antarctica.  The American base at McMurdo (Mac Town) operates shuttle buses that connect them with the New Zealand station near by (Scott Station) and the airfield.

This is the stop at Scott Station, yes it is chained to the ground.  Picture used by permission of S. Childress.

Bus with an Attitude.  The famous "Ivan the Terra Bus".  The tires are size 66x43x25.  Picture this one pulling up to your stop.  Picture found on the WWW.

Okay, here is the bus stop in McMurdo.  From what I have found about it, they move it around every so often.  Picture found on the WWW somewhere.

Yes, the standard Econoline chop job, well almost, these look like they are ready for a Monster Truck rally.  Picture found on the WWW.
